The Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) is celebrated in central and southern Mexico on November 1st and 2nd. This interesting holiday is a hybrid of the modern Catholic holidays of All Saints and All Souls Days and the ancient traditions of the indigenous people honoring their loved ones who have passed away.
